NRTA warmly welcomes a new company member – Pet Valu Canada Inc., headquartered in Markham, ON. Pet Valu specializes in providing for cats, dogs, wild and caged birds, and other small animals.
The company supplies pet food and pet supplies across Canada, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. The Pet Valu family of stores consists of Pet Valu, Bosley’s by Pet Valu, Total Pet and Tisol Pet Nutrition & Supply with approximately 600 stores across Canada, and offers over 7,000 national, premium, and private label brands.
Pet Valu Canada (PVC) “knows how much you value the companionship of Fido, Rex, Princess, and every purebred and mutt in between.” The company also offers its own pet products under the Performatrin, Homepath, and Fresh4Life names, among others. PVC was founded in 1976 by Geoff and Carole Holt, and it was taken private by affiliates of Roark Capital Group in 2009.

Pet Valu and NRTA: Deeply committed to giving back
Pet Valu is deeply committed to giving back. Over the past 10 years, its in-store fundraising programs have raised more than $17 million dollars for local animal rescues, shelters and charities and its adoption events have found forever homes for more than 32,000 pets. Pet Valu is also the national charitable partner for Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, and Pet Valu has sponsored five rescue transportation or mobile health clinics through its Giving Back Project grant program.
